Dinner and Friend

Some of you may know that I started out my photography career working in a studio for a large product retailer. So when Sue from Dinner and Friend contacted me to produce some photos of her stunning dinnerware, I was excited to go back to my roots and produce some stylised product work. She wanted some clean, minimal photos to show off her new designs, check out the work below -

Yoke The Salon - Rebrand

I always love working with the guy at Yoke, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my hair. I was recently asked to come down and take some new photographs of their new re-brand. It looks gorgeous so take the time to visit them down at Royal William Yard, Plymouth.

Lucinda

Hello everyone - It’s been a while, I hope everyone is keeping safe. I have found it very strange not being able to go out and shoot over the last few months so I was super excited to have restrictions lifted; meaning we could meet up with one other. My first thought was shoot! So I met up with the lovely Lucinda to have a little play. It felt so great to be back out with my camera.

Here are a couple images from our shoot -

The Range - Christmas Packaging

Hey! I hope everyone is keeping well and remaining positive through these uncertain times. I’m really missing my clients and being able photograph but have some great ideas lined up for when lockdown is over.

Before the chaos of Covid-19 lockdown, I was working on a month long project for ‘The Range’ creating imagery for their Christmas 2020 packaging. Some of you may know that I started out my photography career working as part of ‘The Range’ studio photography team a few years ago, so it was great to get the opportunity to come back and do some freelance work for the company and to work some familiar faces.

All of these boxes need to be produced in advance in order to be on the shelves in time for December - so I fully embraced the Christmas spirit; covered in glitter I spent my days untangling lights and scattering fake snow to create the desired sets for the products.

There was a wide selection of different items to photograph, from trees, string lights and light up ornaments all requiring a slightly different approach, so I worked closely with the marketing and design teams to reach their specifications.

I really enjoyed the project and it was great to work on something a little bit different to my usual style of work. Take a look at a small selection of the images here and if you are shopping in ‘The Range’ this December, have a look for for some of my work.

Rapanui

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while - I have been working on a long project so had very little time to catch up on this. I hope everyone is keeping safe in light of recent events and remaining positive!

Rapanui-Feb2020-CodieHobbs-8.jpg

Here is some work from my shoot a few weeks back with Rapanui. I always love working for this brand as I fully support their morals; all of their clothing is made from natural materials using renewable energy. They also design all the clothing to be sent back once you’ve worn it out to then be remade it to brand new clothing - how amazing is that!

I was tasked to create some lifestyle content for them for use over their social platforms and website. I think I chose the windiest day of the year to shoot which was challenging but I had some amazing models who were troopers and braced the cold throughout the day.

I hope you enjoy some of the photos!

Lydia

Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about one of my latest shoots with the lovely Lydia. It is always a pleasure working with Lydia, we are both huge lovers of the outdoors so we took ourselves to the gorgeous Bodmin Moor where we spent a few hours exploring the area whilst I took photographs of our journey.

Here are some of the photos below -

Bodmin moor is a naturally beautiful backdrop and great area to explore with an abundance of history. Here is a behind the scenes image of an old derelict engine house from a tin mine.

On a side note, this was one of my first shoots taking out my new mini tog bag. I couldn’t recommend it enough - after falling in love with my larger grey tog bag, I knew the quality and overall feel would be great. This smaller version is perfect for when I want to just take a camera and a few primes rather than my whole camera set up and the tan colour is gorgeous too. (pictured above)

Mila - Santa Cruz Skateboards

I have been wanting to shoot with this lovely lady for a long time now, so when Mila asked me to photograph some content for Santa Cruz skateboards and Goose and Gander I was super excited to get planning.

We shot a selection of images on the cliff overlooking the beach and then some more in a beautifully painted housing estate. Both locations worked perfectly to create a fun, colourful backdrop to compliment the laid back clothing style. We even got to check out Mila’s skating skills! True Vision Brand

Hey everyone, I hope you are enjoying my blog so far. Today I am writing up about my recent shoot for True Vision Brand.

True Vision Brand create beanies, wallets, belts and hoodies and I was tasked to create a range of content for their website, social media and amazon store. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with, everyone got on so well which only makes this style of photography easier with friendships and laughter being natural and unforced.

We worked out of a cafe and a restaurant along with various outdoor locations to not only give us a variety of images but give us a place to carry on working whilst unpredictable weather was forecast. Take a look at some of the images from the shoot below -

A massive thankyou to Abi for assisting me - you were great!

Lucy Cole

This year I am focusing on trying to diversify my portfolio; I mean I love all of my coastal shoots and will in no way be stopping them - but I feel it’s always great to show off a variety of skills. Many of you may not know that I come from a studio background so always love to take the lighting out for a spin when I get the chance.

It is always great to be able to work from the comfort of your own living room - cup of tea in hand. So I set up a small studio space and invited Lucy Cole over for a play. I’ve wanted to shoot this kind of portraiture for a while now - super clean and non fussy to really focus on the subject. I wanted to keep the posing quite playful and I am extremely happy with the results.

Lucie Rose Donlan - My Protein

Hey everyone - welcome to my new blog! I thought it was about time to start posting a bit more about what I get up to. I’m going to focus on getting some more behind the scenes content and I am particularly excited to have a place to display some of the photos from shoots that don’t always get posted on my social media. This will be a visual diary of my 2020! So here it goes…..

Kicking off this year with a shoot for Lucie Rose Donlan for My Protein. After creating some of my favourite work with Lucie last year I was super excited to shoot with her again. Lucie had to create some engaging content for her promotional post on Instagram for the brand. My Protein sent us three outfits with the intention of choosing their favourite to run as the promotional feature. We shot a variety of posed and action shots of all outfits to show the items in both a relaxed and working scenario. The winning outfit was the gorgeous red two piece displayed below.

Our original plan was to shoot the items on the beach but unfortunately the weather was not on our side that day. This was a blessing in disguise as we managed to use the most amazing gym where Lucie trains. I am always drawn to shooting outdoors but it’s also great to get content in different areas to push me out of my comfort zone. Take a look at the results below.

Always a pleasure working with this lovely lady - check her out at @lucierosedonlan
